2015 marked the 11th FIT For Charity Run and this was the first year we obtained Tokyo Metropolitan “Koen” support. Over 5,700 participants (including 300 volunteers) joined the event from 96 organisations this year. Through the financial support from Sponsor and Supporter firms, participation fees from runners and goods and services provided by our Donors, 59,373,995 yen was raised. After deducting expenses, a total of 51,832,000 yen will be shared amongst our eight beneficiary organisations.

At the donation ceremony, the FIT 2015 Organising Committee Co-Chairpersons provided an update on the 2015 event and expressed their sincere gratitude to the Sponsors and “Koen” Supporters. This was followed by presentations from representatives from each of the 2015 beneficiary organisations on their planned usage of the funds. Through the beneficiary organisation presentations, the attendees were able to further understand the issues facing each organisation, their needs and what impact the FIT donation will have for their organisation. Messages in the presentations, such as “we plan to use these funds to support projects which will bring a smile to our beneficiaries’ faces” and “we plan to use these funds to bring happiness to people who are directly facing social problems”, resounded with attendees. Finally, everyone gathered to make a toast to the success of FIT 2015.

FIT For Charity brings the financial industry together in activities to give back to our community. These activities not only build connections within each of the participating firm, they build stronger relationships between our firms. Whilst raising funds is one of the key outcomes of the event, it also provide an opportunity for the beneficiary organisations to build connections with firms in the financial industry.

The donation ceremony marks the end of the annual plan of events and operations, however key member of the current organising team will focus on ways to improve future events. Through increased quality and transparency, we will continue to improve the event for beneficiaries, sponsors, supporters, runners and volunteers.

A Sponsorship Meeting is planned for 24 March. Email invitations will be sent to each of the registered participating organisations. If your firm in the financial industry is interested in becoming a sponsor of the event, or if you are interested in participating in a charity event, please contact us at sponsorship@fitforcharity.org.

Information regarding the 2016 event will be posted on this website once it has been confirmed by the organising committee.

We appreciate the kind support of Roppongi Hills Club in providing the venue, food and beverage for the Donation Ceremony. We also express gratitude to Akira Fukunaga and Masahiro Murakoshi for providing photography services at the ceremony.
