FIT 2015 Charity NPO ReBit introduces new teaching kit for LGBT awareness

2017/03/30

NPO ReBit, one of the charity organisations supported by FIT For Charity 2015, has started providing teacher’s tool kits regarding LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) for Junior High schools from 30 March 2017.

The kit offers learning materials for school teachers, including pictures, worksheets, and seals of rainbow marks, which are symbols of understanding and support for sexual minorities. The kit aims to create a classroom environment that acknowledges and supports diversities of sexuality of students. Featured on the tool kit is a raccoon mascot named “Araiguma,” whose name is derived from the word “Arai” which means supporters for sexual minorities. By developing a teacher’s tool kit that allows students to learn about diverse sexualities, ReBit aims to create an environment that makes it easier for students of sexual minorities to communicate with their teachers, and help them feel at ease at school.

More details about the new teacher’s tool kit are available on ReBit’s official website.
