FIT2017 Beneficiary Organisation, NPO 3keys, to host 18th Annual “Child Issue Seminar”
2018/07/22
NPO 3keys, one of 2017 FIT beneficiary organisations, provides support to children who are subject to neglect and abuse, living in poverty, and do not have any adults to depend on, aiming to widen the safety net for all children, regardless of the environment in which they were born and raised.
Launched in April 2016 for teenagers, NPO 3keys’ support service search and consultation website “Mex” has over 10,000 accesses every month from all over the country.
3keys will report on its 2017 activities as part one of the Child Issue Seminar which is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, August 21st 2018, focusing on the use of “Mex.” During the second part of the seminar, Mr. Yasuyuki Shimizu, former NHK Director and representative of NPO Suicide Countermeasure Support Centre Life Link, will be invited to speak about the current situation of suicide among youths, changes in the society and legal system surrounding these issues, what adults can do to help address these issues. Mr. Shimizu was also involved in the March 2018 consultation project using SNS.
In addition, a talk session will be held between Mr. Shimizu and NPO 3keys director, Ms. Moriyama, to discuss in-depth the issue of youth suicide and address questions from the audience.
